Application conditions
The surface to be coated must be clean and dry. The ambient temperature must be at least +10 °C, the relative humidity must
be 30–70%.

Surface preparation
New wooden surface
Remove dirt and dust. Lightly moisten by spraying with water. Allow to dry and sand to remove any chips.
Remove sanding dust.

Previously varnished surface
Wash with Maalipesu detergent and rinse thoroughly with water. If the old varnish coating is in very poor condition, remove it completely with paint remover or sand it. Treat as a new wooden surface.

Varnishing
Stir thoroughly all the way to the bottom before use, and also stir during application. If necessary, thin with water. Apply 2
coats in the direction of the wood grain. If you are using a coloured varnish, test it on a separate wooden board before applying it to ensure that the colour is suitable. The final colour depends on the type of wood, its hardness, natural colour and the number of coats of varnish. When applying the first coat, dilute the coloured varnish with water (use 20–30% water by volume). The desired colour and gloss are usually achieved with 2 coats of varnish. To ensure an even colour, apply the entire surface without interruption; if it is a large area, apply several panels at once.

Cleaning tools
Wash tools with water. Tikkurila Pensselipesu (tool cleaner) is recommended to remove hardened paint from tools.
Wash with water immediately after use. Clean slightly hardened varnish with Pensselipesu tool cleaner.

Surface care
If necessary, the surface can be cleaned after a month (at the earliest).

Clean gently with a neutral (pH 6-8) detergent using a soft brush, sponge or cloth. The cleaned surface should not be wet.
For very dirty surfaces, clean with a weak alkaline (pH 8-10) detergent using a cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly with water after cleaning.

Recoating
Can be recoated with a water-based varnish of the same type. See "Surface preparation".

Environment and waste management
Prevent entry into drains, surface and ground water and soil. Product residues must be disposed of in accordance with
the requirements of waste management legislation. Empty and dry packaging should be recycled or disposed of in accordance with
the requirements of waste management legislation.

HEALTH AND SAFETY LABELLING according to Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008

Contains small amounts of the allergenic substances: 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one (MIT) and a mixture of: 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one [EC No. 247-500-7]; 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin3-one [EC No. 220-239-6] (3:1) (C(M)IT/MIT (3:1)). The paint contains a biocidal additive to protect the product during storage.
